Hello,
Just two weeks left of school until Winter Break! We are going to make them an amazing two weeks with lots of learning and fun! Writing: This week we really focused on making sure our introduction hooks the readers. We worked with partners and I did conferencing with each student. Next week we will revise our drafts and work on publishing them! Reading: Our focus this week was studying how a character changes in a story and what event makes the character change, I met with each student and in groups for character analyze discussions. Another focus was determining what the life lesson is in the book. Some books it can be really clear and other books students have to dig deeper to find the lesson. Grammar: Next week we will review adverbs. Students will practice using them and identifying them in a sentence. Social studies: We had so much fun working on our personal finance unit this week. Student had 100 to budget a dinner for 20 people. Ask your student about it! Math: 2.2: We will continue to review arrays, graphing, odd and even numbers. Test will be on Dec. 17th 3.1 Next week we will continue practicing two step word problems and area. Test on Dec 17 will be on story problems. Phonics: we will review the skills from the past two weeks. No new words or quiz this week! Thank you, Mrs. Flaherty |
