Great Week Back!
It was wonderful to be back to school this week! We worked so hard! Reading: In reading we studied characters. Students read to develop an understanding of characters' feelings, thoughts, and how characters change during a story. During strategy groups students got to share their "stop and jots" about their independent reading books. So impressive! Writing: In writing this week we continued drafting our stories. Students looked mentor texts and worked on adding tension and writing important parts bit by bit. Next week we will set new writing goals and use checklist to evaluate our work. Phonics :OW Test on Friday:
Social Studies: We started our personal finance unit this week. We talked about goods and services, producers, consumers, imports, exports, supply and demand. On Monday we will start a fun project using what we have learned! Have a great weekend! Mrs. Flaherty
